QEC, IBA Karachi organizes Consultative Session on "Increasing Collaboration among QECs"
The Quality Enhancement Cell at IBA Karachi organized a consultative session for selected QECs from different universities of Karachi with links to business education on Friday, 18th October 2019.
The session was led by Dr. Amber Gul Rashid (Director QEC, IBA Karachi). The session aimed to select collaborative activities which universities could pilot for the next six months.
Universities had shared their ideas prior to attending the consultative session. These were shared anonymously and participants were invited to select two ideas and present them, incorporating details of how the ideas would materialize and the outcome measured.
After a shortlisting process, the final three ideas were decided by an anonymous vote. Representatives from JSMU, SZABIST & DIHE volunteered to co-ordinate the pilot phase for each of the three selected ideas (IQA with JSMU, Research with SZABIST, and Small Group Co-ordination with DIHE). Another session will be organized by IBA Karachi in six months where all QECs will come together to assess progress.
Dr. Farrukh Iqbal, Executive Director, IBA Karachi, spoke about the need for enhancing the quality of higher education at universities. This was followed by an impromptu Q/A session on accreditation. Dr. Farrukh Iqbal then distributed certificates among the attendees. The event concluded with a vote of thanks to the organizers, followed by a group photograph and refreshments.
