Review of MS Finance & Islamic Banking Finance Programs on PREE Standards - Department of Finance, School of Business Studies (SBS) - IBA Karachi

On June 22, 2026, the Academic Quality Excellence (AQE) facilitated Self-Assessment Review of the MS Finance and MS Islamic Banking & Finance programs offered by the Department of Finance in accordance with the PREE standards.

The review was carried out by the Assessment Team comprising of Dr. Imam Uddin (Associate Dean - College of Business Management & Director, Centre for Islamic Business & Finance, Institute of Business Management) as the External Evaluator, and Dr. Muhammad Atif Tahir (Professor and Program Coordinator - Graduate & Postgraduate Programs, Computer Science, IBA Karachi) as the Internal Evaluator. The review process focused on a comprehensive evaluation of various aspects of the program, including curriculum design, learning outcomes, and academic as well as administrative processes. The assessment team held detailed discussions with the Program Director and relevant program teams to examine the program structure, available resources, and institutional policies. Interactive sessions with faculty and students further enriched the review by providing valuable insights into teaching quality, learning experiences, and student support services.

The review concluded with a formal exit meeting, during which the panel shared its observations, acknowledged the strengths of the programs, and proposed actionable recommendations aimed at continuous improvement and the promotion of academic excellence.
