BS Mathematics Program Review Based on PREE Standard - Department of Mathematical Sciences, SMCS-IBA Karachi

On June 9, 2026, the IBA-QEC facilitated a Self-Assessment Review of the BS Mathematics program offered by the Department of Mathematical Sciences of SMCS-IBA, in accordance with the PREE standards. The Assessment Team included Dr. Fahim Raees, Associate Professor at NED University of Engineering & Technology as the External Evaluator, and Dr. Kanza Sohail Khanani, Assistant Professor and Director of the Undergraduate Programs of SBS at IBA Karachi as the Internal Evaluator. The review process focused on a comprehensive evaluation of various aspects of the program, including curriculum design, learning outcomes, and academic as well as administrative processes. The assessment team engaged in detailed discussions with the Program Director and relevant program teams to examine the program structure, available resources, institutional policies, and related matters.

Additionally, interactive sessions were held with faculty members and students to gather valuable feedback on academic delivery, student support services, and related areas.

The review concluded with an exit meeting attended by Dr. Shakeel Ahmed Khoja, the Dean of SMCS, Dr. Sana Tauseef, the Director of QEC, Dr Amir Bashir, the Chairperson of the Department and Dr. Muhammad Sheraz, the Program Coordinator of BS Mathematics. During the meeting, the assessment team formally presented the program's key strengths, observations, and recommendations for improvement.
