Annual Self-Institutional Performance Evaluation (IPE) Review of IBA, Karachi
April 26, 2023, to April 28, 2023: The Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) at IBA Karachi conducted its annual 3-day self-Institutional Performance Evaluation (IPE) review activity. The activity provides the necessary guidelines for the steps to be taken towards continuous quality improvement, based on the input and recommendations of the IPE review panel members.
The IPE panel consisted of three members. The two internal members were Dr. Rameez Khalid, Associate Professor, Department of Management, IBA and Dr. Amir Jahan Khan, Assistant Professor, Department of Economics, IBA. The external member, Dr. Muhammad Farooq Naseer, head of QEC and Assistant Professor at Mushtaq Ahmad Gurmani School of Humanities and Social Sciences, LUMS, Lahore.
The purpose of the review was to evaluate IBA against the eleven standards provided by the HEC, IPE Manual for (CQI) continuous quality improvements in governance, student learning, programs, and administrative services. The IPE panelists met the Executive Director, Dr. S. Akbar Zaidi, Registrar, all three Deans of the respective schools, the Director QEC with her QEC team and the heads of the various academic and administrative departments, faculty members, students, and our valuable alumni. Current structures, strategies, and policies, along with the possible quality improvements, were discussed. The panel also visited the library, auditorium, boys’ hostel, alumni and students center, sports facilities and cafeteria and appreciated the facilities provided within the campus to the students, faculty, and staff.
The three-day activity was concluded with an exit meeting with the Executive Director, Registrar, Deans of the schools, and QEC team of IBA. The Executive Director IBA encouraged the panelists to be proactive in providing suggestions to improve the academic environment of IBA. Initial findings were discussed by the panel members, final recommendations were to be shared later. The Executive Director distributed memorandum and shields to the IPE panel members.
